even the birds
while i’ve never been terribly interested in celebrity* (though, my husband would say that my rapid-fire knowledge of hollywood trivia suggests otherwise) and have never before read a celebrity memoir,  portia de rossi’s account of her struggle with anorexia definitely sparked my interest. having dealt with my own body issues, and my constant struggle with the self-centered pain in my ass that is insecurity, it was really helpful, even healing, to read word-for-word thoughts and accusations i’ve made against myself in the past; to read through her struggle and her victory.
i should come up with some sort of point system or scale to rate my reads, but in the meantime, i’ll just say that this book is quick, honest, and recommended by me.
